This Week in Hobby — 4.12.24

I have spent the last couple weeks feverishly trying to get everything done for the Inquisitor demo game I will be doing at the 3D Roleplay Con IV – May 4th. I have the terrain nailed down I believe. I have another couple test games next week to be sure. But I feel like I am down to just painting a couple minis and creating the pre-gen character sheets to be used.

Here are some shots around the table – with the 54mm Inquisitor figures in place for scale.

That’s it this week – I need to get back to work on building reference cards and character sheets – and anything else I haven’t forgotten yet. My hope is to have 2-3 games under my belt before the con.

    That table looks great! Is that mat actually textured? That’s pretty cool!

      It’s a “Zuzzy mat” I first remembered seeing on at OFCC many years ago. The company fell apart – but I got myself on a year or so later locally.
      It’s vulcanized rubber I believe… formed over a mold of some sort.

      Here is my initial blog post with concern about this mat…

        I’m surprised that’s not more of a thing. We don’t use too many mats in RPGs, but maybe if I get around to playing Frostgrave/Stargrave again.

Hello, I am an aging geek and hobby gamer. Born within Generation X — I came to age in the 1980’s. I grew into my hobby life on RPG’s (Gamma-World & D&D), early Computers (Ti-99 4A & Apple ][e), Dial-up BBS’s (too many trunk hunting nightmares to name) and mini wargaming (RT Warhammer 40k – Eldar Corsairs & Harlequins).

I live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States – South of the Portland metroplex in Oregon. I have been blogging about my gaming hobby since 2008 and this is the newest edition of that blog. That old blog was maintained with iWeb on Apple’s MobileMe hosting platform.

Unfortunately, I only have those blog posts on my old backup hard drives. This newest version of the blog started on Wordpress 13 years ago.
